To be looked at next:
* iCloud support for Jlpt Study. To synchronize study data between your various devices.
* EFL melody/multi singe note…
* GFL2: More exotic scales + a request for the whole tone scale – in preparation.

Future:

Scale’s and arpeggios for guitar
Random note series in Note test to increase the test difficulty. For a later version.
Statistics. For a later version.
Re-record the chords for guitar with my Gibson Lucille

Suggestions: Chord inversions, multiple notes in perfect pitch

JLPT Study:
As a long term goal, audio recordings might be added. A pilot project will start and depending on its outcome, it could be moved to JLPT Study

GFL 2:
Left hand support – done.
Different views for easy comparison of scales and tunings – done.
Looped backing tracks in the application. Im looking into how to get loops playing smoothly – slightly on hold

EFL backlog:
Longer samples for single notes, piano.
Softer piano sounds – in preparation

EFL 2.31 minor issue FIxed

June 29, 2011

The interval section has a slight problem with the range selection.
It has been corrected and version 2.32 is now out fixing this.

Backing tracks added

June 8, 2011

Two new backing tracks was added in Modes. Focusing on Mixolydian and Lydian Dominant. LydDom (Mixolydian with raised 4th) is often more interesting over a 7 chord than Mixolydian. Still, Mixolydian is very common substitution for Dorian in Blues/rock etc.

GFL2 1.14 crash in iOS 4.1 and earlier

June 8, 2011

The problem was introduced in v1.14 with a visual improvement.
Now this feature is only selected if you have iOS 4.2 or higher which solves the problem.

Fixed in v1.15

Thanks a lot to you who pointed this out to me.

New application GFL 2 available

January 11, 2011

A complete rewrite of Guitar for life.

Photo realistic fretboard that can be freely aligned over its 22 frets is one new feature.
Ability to change the tuning so that scales can be viewed and played in OpenG, Celtic etc is another.

Owners of the previous GFL will get an update bringing in the full fretboard and user interface.

GFL 2 supports iPad and high quality graphics for iPhone 4.

Missing feature? Let me know.

Audio problems in EFL fixed in version 1.5

November 29, 2010

It was brought to my attention that iOS4.2 created some strange echo and problems with audio volume for the audio samples.

The audio frame work had been updated and apparently also the way the playback is handled.

I found a workaround that fixes the problem. The audio will have a slight delay before they are played in iOS 4 and greater (0.5 seconds), and in pre iOS 4 it will be as before.

Use Head Phones for Ear For Life

March 28, 2010

The audio samples in Ear For Life needs to be heard with the full range frequency as they were recorded in. This means that it will be best perceived by using a good set of head phones. If you are using an iPhone with the external speaker, try boosting the bass frequencies and make sure you are in a noise free area.
